Good point, but "concluding" that mankind was created from a divine being does not come quickly. It should not. Just as I would hope that concluding that we all evolved from primordial soup would not come quickly and easily. Furthermore, this conclusion has to involve a leap of faith, just as a conclusion that believes we all are just monkeys involves a leap of faith. An honest perspective of both religion and science reveals that they both hinge on the act of faith. The object of faith changes, but the action is required. It's an epistemological issue: what do we know and how do we know it?

p.s. And please don't confuse me for a crazy "fundamentalist," nothing can be further from the truth. I am not arguing against all evolution, just against the thought that we are nothing but monkeys.

<QUOTE>Is the answer that we are EVOLVED monkeys? That still does not suffice. Being told I am nothing more than a monkey for 4 minutes does not do much for my self-esteem. I'd rather be created intentionally by a divine being.</QUOTE>

I'm curious, what makes you think that you are entitled to a quick answer (like "a divine being did it")? That you deserve it because if not, it's not good for your self-esteem...

We deserve an explanation as much as a cockroach does.
