Effect of "Coke" on sperm motility
From what I understand the acid in coke is supposed to have some level of spermicide qualities. Along the same lines I seem to remember something about lemons being used as a method of birth control in impoverished nations in Africa and Asia. There are a lot of problems associated with using a douche contraceptive not related to the spermicide's ability to kill sperm. I think the out going message of these videos should always be a condom is 90% more effective.

Was it just me or did this video kind of come across as a 'LOOK HOW BAD COKE IS FOR YOU' video?

Sizing (Blog Entry by jwray)
On the topic of underwear, I've always thought most of the print patterns on boxers make them look like material left over from clown pants.

The Unemployment Game Show: Are You *Really* Unemployed?
I don't think people fresh out of college count either. Many of them either haven't had jobs beyond some summer work, or they had jobs on campus they were no longer eligible for the second they graduated.

Many sifters are extremists when talking about religion (Religion Talk Post)
This may have been touched on in some other posts, but I think Atheism a bit of a circle jerk for VS. And I don't mean that in a bad way. A lot of us are surrounded by the blatant and sometimes dangerous ignorance exuded by the religious community. So we come to VS and find a bunch of like minded people and we vent, and sometimes say mean and/or intolerant things. I don't think any of us is thinking of the nice people who go to church, or say God Bless you when you sneeze, and worry they might have offended by saying that. I think of the ones that knock on my door telling me I'm an abhorrent who will spend eternity in damnation unless I say I give myself to some attention starved god who's more worried about whether I like him or not than what kind of person I am. Or the ones that cheery pick which bible verses to interpret loosely or literally so they can rally their peers and oppress those who have a dissenting opinion no matter how based in fact that may be. A lot of us are just blowing off steam and finding comfort/sanity in like minded people.

For my part I try to avoid using all encompassing words such as 'all Christians', and direct my derogatory remarks towards those who've demonstrated their douchebaggery. I do remember seeing a video with a rather sensible priest expressing his views on religion which many VS atheists praised. So we're not always ready to launch at the throat of everyone flying the banner of religion.

Richard Feynman on Social Sciences
My degrees are in Psychology as well, and I can see some of the truth in what he says, but there is also a lot of true experimentation. The problem with disciplines like psychology is the things that are being studied have a high number of variables and its difficult or unethical to control those variables. You can isolate a particle and bombard with all kinds of tests to learn its properties, but do that with a child and suddenly you've gone too far. Ahem, as I was saying the science part in a lot of social science is just limited by our ability to measure the subject of our curiosity. This leads to a lot of supposition, which I don't think is a bad thing, when better measurement tools come along those suppositions can be tested or refined.

Fox News Dumbest Anti-Atheist Question of the Month?
To answer his second question, it sounds like a good idea in theory, but I think the reality of the situation is instead of a public forum for mindful important debate it degenerates into lunatics ranting about damnation or the government putting florid in the drinking water. I'm not against public forums, just unavoidably public forums.

Best Buy-Keeping idiots offline
I'm pretty sure Geek Squad's problem solving flow charts are based on how gullible the customer looks and how much money to charge them as opposed to symptoms and solutions.

I've had the joy of fixing a friend's Geek Squad fail computer. Its a nice little ego rush when they realize you've fixed their machine in 4 hours, required them to buy no parts, and didn't charge them $200 to back up their data.

Grey Diamonds optical illusion
If you've a bit paper handy you can cover up the dark half of the diamonds, so you can compare the lighter parts of the gradients, they should appear about the same color.

Zero Punctuation: Dragon Age: Origins
Despite being ported to multiple systems I've noticed a distinct lack of consolitis, which is a lot more than can be said of many of Bioware's multi-system games. Mass Effect while a fun game, had a terrible UI. The inventory system lacked anyway to sort items and the item upgrade comparison was limited to who was in your party ATM. The in game video options menu was just horrid. You actually couldn't select some video settings because the interface was so screwed up it made clicking on them impossible. Anyways, Dragon Age didn't have any of that, I couldn't guess by playing the game it had counterparts on console systems. So to that I say, thank you Dragon Age development team for making the PC version a true PC version and not some hastily cobbled together port. Only problems I've noticed are some map and clothing clipping problems.

Mac Geek - Dag finally comes to his senses
Working IT is always fun when it comes to this, cause all the mac people constantly brag about how awesome their macs are, then you get the call to come in and fix them. Half the time its one of those viruses Macs 'don't' get. I've discovered the best OS is the one with a user that doesn't operate it by rolling their face over the keyboard.

I didn't know you could get such great reverb on vocals by just sitting on a couch. Would have been nice to hear how they actually sounded, still great music.

Vote Up To Torment This Christian Woman (Carrie Prejean)
^Nobody should, but to conservatives she's become the symbol of the liberal elite socialists oppressing them. She wasn't canned for her response about gays, it upset people, but it didn't get her fired, she wasn't even fired for the sex tape, she was fired because instead of showing up to the events she was supposed to be at as a function of job, she went off to play with Sarah Palin. And now that she's been fired she's conviently forgoten all the other shit she's done and is playing the part of the victim. Oh yeah she's back in the news cause she wrote a book is trying to unload it on people who think that dingbat has anything worth saying.
